Jay is a really nice guy and great tour guide, he really pays attention to detail, it shows in little things. Like lighting up stairs which look too dark, always pointing out spots y be careful. But the best is his energy and knowledge. He really made the tour for everything I was interested in. When coming to Chongqing I highly recommend booking this tour. Jay was with us for 4 days. We had a FABULOUS time. He picked us up at the train station and took us to our hotel. Everything we had wanted to do or see, he was able to provide it and more. He picked us up each morning and had lots of patience when we were getting a bit slow with all the walking or stair climbing. The days were organized to try and stay out of the hot Humid August heat which was very welcome. He was close in age to my daughter so they always had lots of things to talk about & enjoy each others musical styles on the longer drives to Wulong and Dazu Caves. I used hughchongqing for a personalised tour for an evening and three days in Chongqing. I absolutely fell in love with the city. Jay is a true Chongqing local and a dream of a tour-guide. Great communication whether texting or hanging out. And even better suggestions!! Checked off everything i wanted to see while making the itinerary work in our favour at all times, including meals traffic and time specific events. I’m still impressed how hugh got it all to fit in such a short time and how Jay was able to show me everything while adjusting my tour to my personal interest too. And I can’t thank Jay enough for his Hospitality and the way he was able to tell me so much about every question i came up with!
I also visited the 24h-spa, which i really enjoyed, it was a cool experience and there was also a buffet. Definitely a few relaxing hours. But i would have appreciated a bit more communication beforehand, maybe like a little text, with all the options and floors, because even though the staff were all really friendly and helpful I feel like i could have gotten even more out of the experience.

We were really happy with the 4 tours that we did – City Highlights, Mountain/City, Local Neighborhood Walk, and Food Tour. We felt that since Chongqing was so large, it provided us with many different vantage points to see this amazing city. Any stops within the itineraries that may have overlapped were replaced with different options, so that was nice! Pacing was good so that we didn’t feel rushed, comfortable Tesla to take us around, nice to try out the subway, bus, and get in an amazing amount of stair climbing in throughout. Food tour gave us an opportunity to try a lot of things that we wouldn’t have otherwise thought about trying or even knowing what the item was. On all-day tour days, our lunch stops gave us an opportunity to try out places that without knowing Mandarin, we wouldn’t have found or been able to try without Jay. We really enjoyed all our meals! We also had some one-off moments that ended up being so much fun – having Jay translate our conversation between Ayi’s playing majhong, a marriage matchmaker explaining her clients and process, and the Taoism priest reading our fortune – all of it was not on the itinerary, but some of the most memorable moments during our trips.

Thank you to Hugh or putting everything together. The process to pay was very easy, we appreciated the flexibility when the photography tours didn’t work out. Your website made it very clear what the itineraries would be on the tours we ended up going on. Jay was with us for 4 days. We had a FABULOUS time. He picked us up at the train station and took us to our hotel. Everything we had wanted to do or see, he was able to provide it and more. He picked us up each morning and had lots of patience when we were getting a bit slow with all the walking or stair climbing. The days were organized to try and stay out of the hot Humid August heat which was very welcome. He was close in age to my daughter so they always had lots of things to talk about & enjoy each others musical styles on the longer drives to Wulong and Dazu Caves. I used hughchongqing for a personalised tour for an evening and three days in Chongqing. I absolutely fell in love with the city. Jay is a true Chongqing local and a dream of a tour-guide. Great communication whether texting or hanging out. And even better suggestions!! Checked off everything i wanted to see while making the itinerary work in our favour at all times, including meals traffic and time specific events. I’m still impressed how hugh got it all to fit in such a short time and how Jay was able to show me everything while adjusting my tour to my personal interest too. And I can’t thank Jay enough for his Hospitality and the way he was able to tell me so much about every question i came up with!
I also visited the 24h-spa, which i really enjoyed, it was a cool experience and there was also a buffet. Definitely a few relaxing hours. But i would have appreciated a bit more communication beforehand, maybe like a little text, with all the options and floors, because even though the staff were all really friendly and helpful I feel like i could have gotten even more out of the experience.

Jay was a really good match for us! He was energetic, knowledgeable, and fun to chat with. He knew how to ask questions which we felt helped him provide just the right amount of information for us to understand what we were seeing on the tours, and without it becoming boring. He was flexible with things we may or may not have been interested in, made little tweaks to things if realized we would like something just a little different, and we never felt rushed throughout the tours. We were really happy with the 4 tours that we did – City Highlights, Mountain/City, Local Neighborhood Walk, and Food Tour. We felt that since Chongqing was so large, it provided us with many different vantage points to see this amazing city. Any stops within the itineraries that may have overlapped were replaced with different options, so that was nice! Pacing was good so that we didn’t feel rushed, comfortable Tesla to take us around, nice to try out the subway, bus, and get in an amazing amount of stair climbing in throughout. Food tour gave us an opportunity to try a lot of things that we wouldn’t have otherwise thought about trying or even knowing what the item was. On all-day tour days, our lunch stops gave us an opportunity to try out places that without knowing Mandarin, we wouldn’t have found or been able to try without Jay. We really enjoyed all our meals! We also had some one-off moments that ended up being so much fun – having Jay translate our conversation between Ayi’s playing majhong, a marriage matchmaker explaining her clients and process, and the Taoism priest reading our fortune – all of it was not on the itinerary, but some of the most memorable moments during our trips.

Thank you to Hugh or putting everything together. The process to pay was very easy, we appreciated the flexibility when the photography tours didn’t work out. Your website made it very clear what the itineraries would be on the tours we ended up going on.
