We met Robert at 11am at the start of what was to be a very long day. Robert had excellent english, he was enthusiastic and full of energy; it was obvious he is proud of his city and wanted to show us why. There was a large mix of walking, driving, stairs and escalators, it was hot and very humid an Robert was responsive to our needs to sit, break, and drink. He’s also a skilled photographer and encouraged us to have many pictures taken. We finished the night after 10pm, exhausted but fulfilled. I can recommend the city tour if it’s all you have time for, and ask for Robert if he’s available.

The days went by so quickly because it never felt like I was traveling with a stranger—instead, it felt like exploring with a friend who genuinely loves his home city. His warmth, knowledge, and passion made every moment special.

Jindao was magical, and we practically had the entire place to ourselves. Even in the rain, the atmosphere felt enchanted—it still touched us in a way that’s hard to describe. Wulong was equally special, and I can easily see why nature lovers find the Three Natural Bridges absolutely breathtaking. As for the city tour, we ended up changing the itinerary completely, and Robert was so kind and flexible in accommodating everything I hoped to see. How can we improve in the future?
If there’s one area for improvement, it would be upgrading the vehicle. I’d highly recommend using the Chinese-made Xiaomi car—it requires far less time for charging and is a lot more fun to travel in, especially on long-distance routes like Jindao and Wulong.

Great tour by Robert. I strongly recommend City highlights tour to over as much as possible in one day. Robert gave us all the local insights about various sights, and covered each and every site mentioned in the tour, despite being overtime.
Even Hugh was very helpful throughout the booking process and helped us arrange the bike tour in CQ as well. I was charged extra by one of the riders but Hugh was kind enough to refund that money from the city tour. Would 100% recommend Robert as a guide and Hugh’s company for any CQ tours.

If you’re an introvert or traveling alone, I absolutely recommend booking a tour with him. It never felt awkward or forced instead, everything felt very natural and easy. Honestly, it didn’t feel like a tour at all , it felt more like meeting up with a friend I’ve known for years who was casually showing me around his old town and sharing local stories 😄.
Robert is also incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, and you can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does. He gave amazing recommendations for local food and hidden spots, and every suggestion was spot on. I really appreciated the extra effort he put into tailoring the experience to my interests.

My experience with Robert as a tour guide during my city tour was truly five-star. He arrived right on time to pick me up from my hotel lobby, and from the very first moment, he was incredibly friendly and welcoming.
He took me to places that are genuinely worth visiting, as well as hidden spots that would be very difficult to discover as a tourist without a knowledgeable local like him. His deep understanding of the city and its culture made the experience even more special. He speaks excellent English, takes great photos, and made sure everything ran smoothly according to the planned itinerary.
He was very punctual and managed the timing perfectly throughout the day. On top of that, the food was amazing—he brought me to a local spot and gave excellent recommendations that I wouldn’t have found on my own.
