As a solo traveler you are always worried you won’t vibe with the guide but we definitely vibed which was great. He told me all about Chongqing and about all the spots we visited! Of all the food tours I’ve taken during my trip to China, this was my favorite simply because the vibes were immaculate w/ Seven and he did a great job of pacing me so I could actually eat all the dishes and snacks.
I tried a ton of delicious foods, and basically ended up creating a mental note of where to eat during my time in CQ. Seven also helped me make the most of my first day in the city and recommended how I spend my evening and after following his tips I was able to enjoy an amazing view of the city.

It was a great pleasure to have Seven to look after all of us during this trip. We had 2 days tour booked through hughchongqing tour company and Seven was our tour guide for both days. Seven kept us informed when is his ETA in the morning so we don’t need to come down to wait too long. He is so experience that he has planned all the time for us he doesn’t rush us around and let us embrace the Wulong tour trip and enjoy the day and happy to send us to a shopping mall instead of returning to our hotel at the end of the trip. Nothing is too hard for Seven.
The most important fact that Seven has help me to order a birthday cake to celebrate our tour member birthday. He actually arrive early on the day of tour to ask me what I need for the celebration. Right from the start, he picked us up in a pristine Tesla and proved to be an exceptionally safe and great driver. Chongqing is famous for its steep hills and confusing terrain, making it incredibly difficult to navigate on your own, but Seven made getting around entirely seamless.
Because it was a private tour, we were able to see everything we wanted at our own absolute pace. Seven was incredibly patient, letting us make spontaneous stops and eat at whatever local spots caught our eye. He even managed to bond and get along great with my 14-year-old son—which any parent knows is no easy feat!

We signed up for a tour in Chongqing with Seven as our guide on June 21, 2026, and the experience started off quite well. The early part of the tour was smooth, informative, and genuinely enjoyable. The guide kept things interesting and engaging during the first half of the day.
However, toward the end, the energy noticeably dropped. The guide seemed to lose interest, and the overall quality of the experience declined. One of the recommendations he gave—the drone show—turned out to be underwhelming. There weren’t many people there, the atmosphere felt a bit sketchy, and overall it didn’t feel like an impressive or ideal location to watch a drone show.
The rooftop restaurant, which was supposed to be one of the highlights, was also disappointing. While the view was nice, the actual experience didn’t match what we expected. We had seen a much nicer place earlier, but instead we were brought to this one. I’m not sure why—maybe it was just more convenient to drop us off there—but it definitely felt like the experience could have been much better.
Overall, the tour had a strong start and good potential, but the later parts didn’t quite meet expectations. With more consistency and more carefully chosen final activities, it could be a much better experience from beginning to end.

We couldn’t have asked for a better guide for our Tianyan cave an earth a typical guided tour- Seven felt like a local friend showing us around his city. He was incredibly knowledgeable, not just about the caves but everyday life in Chongqing, sharing insights you’d never get from a guidebook. He was easily able to converse with, and was even knowledgeable about life in Australia, so he was super engaging in asking questions and discussing our lives. He was also genuinely funny and personable, which made the whole day fly by.
What really set the experience apart was what happened after the tour ended- he invited us to a traditional hotpot dinner at a wonderfully local spot, on his own dime, and even brought his girlfriend along. It felt less like a paid tour and more like being welcomed by a friend. He made sure we got back to our hotel safely, and sent us off with a great list of extra tips on other things to do and see in the city.

Overall, the tour had a strong start and good potential, but the later parts didn’t quite meet expectations. With more consistency and more carefully chosen final activities, it could be a much better experience from beginning to end.

We couldn’t have asked for a better guide for our Tianyan cave an earth a typical guided tour- Seven felt like a local friend showing us around his city. He was incredibly knowledgeable, not just about the caves but everyday life in Chongqing, sharing insights you’d never get from a guidebook. He was easily able to converse with, and was even knowledgeable about life in Australia, so he was super engaging in asking questions and discussing our lives. He was also genuinely funny and personable, which made the whole day fly by.
What really set the experience apart was what happened after the tour ended- he invited us to a traditional hotpot dinner at a wonderfully local spot, on his own dime, and even brought his girlfriend along. It felt less like a paid tour and more like being welcomed by a friend. He made sure we got back to our hotel safely, and sent us off with a great list of extra tips on other things to do and see in the city.
