Itinerary
Tongyuan gate
Start near Tongyuan gate and visit the oldest city gate in Chongqing. In ancient times, this was the dividing line between Chongqing and its surrounding areas, although the city has expanded dozens of times.
Linhua Road – Old neighborhoods where connected by sky bridges and long stairs
Blocks where 15-story apartments without elevators. the front door was on the 8th floor, connected to sky bridges that led to staircases clinging to hillsides.
Chunsen Road – Travel back to the 80s
“Step back in time and feel the authentic 1980s vibe of Chongqing. Explore streets where old buildings and modern developments sit side by side, and soak up the atmosphere of daily life in these historic neighborhoods.”
Chongqing Grand Auditorium – a striking blend of traditional and modern architecture
The Chongqing Auditorium is a magnificent Chinese-style building. The square beside it is perhaps the largest flat area in the city center.
Zhongshan 4th Road
Zhongshan Fourth Road once witnessed the most glorious historical period of Chongqing. During WW II, Chongqing served as the temporary capital of China, and many historical events took place on this street. However, today, it remains a beautiful tree-lined path.
Cliffside Plank Road
We’ll end the journey on the riverside plank road. It’s always a great escape from the city’s noise. Walk here to enjoy the riverside views and the passing metro. Lush plants, coiled roots are everywhere, and abandoned air-raid shelters hide secrets.
